PUBLICATION ETHICS AND PUBLICATION MALPRACTICE STATEMENT
Our publication ethics are based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
Editorial Responsibilities
The editor is responsible for the selection of those articles, reviews, and interviews that will be published in the journal; the decision is based on the result of a double-blind peer review process. The editor should ensure that the peer review process is fair, considerate, and that article selection and content are not influenced by bias or discrimination based on class, race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnicity, citizenship or political belief.
Confidentiality
The editor should strive to keep confidential the identity of both the reviewer and the author, so that the double-blind peer review process can function properly.
Editorial and Peer Review Process
The editor is responsible for informing peer reviewers about the journal’s peer review process and any changes that may occur. The editor is also responsible for keeping in touch with authors and informing them about delays and changes in the peer review process. Authors should read the instructions provided on the journal’s website and submit materials that are in accordance with the guidelines of the journal.
Peer reviewers should make suggestions regarding form, structure, and additional bibliography, in a considerate and timely manner.
Academic Integrity
Papers which have been previously submitted for seminars, workshops and lectures, as well as chapters of diploma papers/dissertations can be submitted for publication. However, papers which have already been published will not be accepted unless the author has secured permission from the initial publishers. Photographs and other images can be inserted in the article, but only if they are relevantly discussed within the body of a given paper. Should papers include images, it is the author’s responsibility to ensure that the reproduction of the image does not infringe upon current copyright norms and/or secure copyright from the copyright owner.
Intellectual Property
This journal does not condone plagiarism. Should any part of a submission be plagiarized, it shall be returned to the sender and the author of the submission will be asked not to submit material for publication in [Inter]sections again. The journal carefully screens all of its submissions for plagiarism by using the academic software provided by the University of Bucharest, www.sistemantiplagiat.ro, as well as other online detection tools, such as DupliChecker and CopyLeaks.
Conflicts of Interest
The editor will ensure an unbiased review process for submissions from themselves, other colleagues, and members of the editorial board.
Copyright and License
Authors can and will always be able to retain all copyright pertaining to their articles. Work published initially in [Inter]sections can be published elsewhere, provided that the journal is credited.
This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.
Open Access Statement
[Inter]sections is fully committed to providing full and immediate open access to all of its issues. We provide our readers with open access to the entire content of the journal upon publication. We do not request fees of any kind for access to any of our published articles, reviews, or interviews.
[Inter]sections allows readers to “read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself. The only constraint on reproduction and distribution, and the only role for copyright in this domain, should be to give authors control over the integrity of their work and the right to be properly acknowledged and cited” (from the Budapest Open Access Initiative).
