The aim of the present work is to examine the reception of fairy tales in the focus of medial and related (genological and cultural) transformation processes using the example of the opiated Romanian folk tale Porcul cel fermecat (The Enchanted Pig). Even if the sole aim is to investigate the textual preparation of the pretext for the purposes of another (literary) genre, namely how certain content is transferred from one textual world to another, the use of intermedial approaches seems indicated here. The following examination is based on the concepts and terminology of literary studies and “libretto studies” on the one hand, and intermedial translation on the other.
