DIE ÜBERSETZUNG EINIGER TITEL VON JULIA ROBERTS FILMEN AUS DEM ENGLISCHEN INS DEUTSCHE UND RUMÄNISCHE

Abstract

Julia Roberts, Hollywood icon and versatile actress, has starred in several movies which have caught the attention of the public  worldwide. Her movies are enjoyed all over the world and they have been consequently subtitled/dubbed in other languages. The
translation of movie titles has been a well-established subdomain of translation since the 1970s. The question that this article is trying to answer is how the titles of six movies in which Julia Roberts has the leading role have been translated into German and Romanian. Based also on the preferences uttered by some tested persons of various ages who have partaken in a poll, the author of the article aims to conclude how the titles have been translated.
