Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
Manuscripts may be submitted in English and should adhere to the following formatting and submission guidelines. The preferred file format is Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx). Authors are asked to use plain formatting and avoid the use of built-in styles or templates. The manuscript should be written in Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing and standard margins (2.54 cm or 1 inch on all sides). Page numbers should be placed in the bottom right corner of each page. Heading levels must be clearly indicated and used consistently throughout the text.
All manuscripts submitted to the journal must strictly follow the American Sociological Association (ASA) referencing style. A complete, correctly formatted reference list must be included at the end of the manuscript. Every in-text citation must correspond to a full reference entry, and all items in the reference list must be cited within the manuscript. For detailed guidance on the ASA citation format, authors are encouraged to consult the official ASA Style Guide, available at: https://www.asanet.org/publications/asa-style-guide.
To ensure the integrity of the double-blind peer review process, the main manuscript file must be fully anonymized. This means that no identifying information about the authors—such as names, affiliations, or acknowledgments—should appear in the manuscript file itself, including in the file name, headers, or metadata. Instead, all identifying details must be provided in a separate Title Page document submitted alongside the manuscript.
The title of the manuscript should be clear, descriptive, and concise, accurately reflecting the main topic of the article. Each manuscript must include an unstructured abstract of no more than 300 words, summarizing the research objective, methodology, key findings, and conclusions. Immediately below the abstract, authors should provide between four and six keywords that clearly describe the content and focus of the article.
Tables and figures included in the manuscript must be clearly labeled and numbered sequentially (e.g., Table 1. Title, Figure 1. Caption). Visual materials should be embedded in the text and also submitted separately as high-resolution image files, in either .jpeg or .png format, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Authors must ensure they own the copyright to all submitted visuals or have obtained the necessary permissions for their use. Any image or graphic reproduced from another source must be properly cited, and the manuscript must include a statement confirming that permission has been obtained for its use.
Title Page (Submitted Separately)
The Title Page must include the full title of the article, the complete list of authors along with their institutional affiliations, and clear identification of the corresponding author, including their name, email address, telephone number, and full mailing address. If applicable, an acknowledgments section should be included to recognize non-author contributions. Biographical notes for each author, not exceeding 200 words, should also be provided. In addition, the Title Page must contain all required statements and declarations related to ethics, conflicts of interest, and funding.
All submissions must include a section dedicated to ethical declarations. Authors must clearly state whether the research received approval from an ethics committee, including the name of the institution and the approval number. If ethical approval was not required, this must be explicitly noted. For studies involving human participants, the form of informed consent obtained—written or verbal—must be indicated. If consent was waived, a justification must be provided. Where the manuscript includes identifiable personal data such as images or quotations, authors must confirm that informed consent for publication was obtained from the individuals concerned.
A declaration of any potential conflicts of interest must be included. If none exist, authors should clearly state that there are no relevant conflicts to disclose. All sources of financial support must be listed, including the names of funding agencies and associated grant numbers; if the research was not supported by external funding, this should also be stated.
Finally, authors must indicate whether the data associated with the research is publicly available, subject to restrictions, or not applicable. Where applicable, links to data repositories or access statements should be provided to ensure transparency and replicability.
