Special Issue Proposals
The Journal of Comparative Research in Anthropology and Sociology – Compaso regularly publishes special issues that focus on important topics within anthropology and sociology. These collections bring together researchers who are exploring similar questions or challenges, offering readers a chance to see how different voices and perspectives can speak to one another. Special highlight areas that deserve more attention, encourage collaboration across fields, and create space for deeper reflection on themes that matter. They are also a way to build community around shared interests and to spark new conversations in the broader academic world.
To propose a special issue or thematic section for publication in Compaso, authors are invited to submit a detailed proposal by email to compaso@compaso.eu. The proposal should include the full names and institutional affiliations of all guest editors involved, as well as a clear and concise title and a 300-word overview describing the main focus, objectives, and scholarly relevance of the proposed collection.
In addition, the proposal must indicate the estimated number of articles to be included, along with the projected total word count. A timeline and delivery plan should be provided, outlining the anticipated submission dates, stages of peer review and revision, and the expected completion of the editorial process. For each proposed contribution, the proposal must include the article title, a 250–300-word abstract, and a brief biographical note of approximately 100 words for each author. It is essential that the proposal also explain how each individual article contributes to the overarching theme and adds value to the proposed issue or section.
Please note that all manuscripts submitted as part of a special issue will undergo the same double-anonymous peer review process as regular submissions, ensuring the highest standards of academic rigor and editorial integrity.
